Need travel help!
« on: November 23, 2009, 03:20:40 AM »

Well it looks like Soozie and I are headed back to Tennessee, we will be driving back and here's what I need to know! We will be taking interstate 40 thru AZ, NM, OKLA, and so on, and I know every year is different but what could we expect in weather leaving maybe around the middle of Dec. Calif to Ariz is a piece of cake it's the rest of the trip I need help with.
Thanks in advance

It will get a bit chilly, I would tote that trailer if I were you.

But the chill should be ok after the sun comes up. When I ride with the wife I have to make sure she is as warm as possible........If she ain't warm it makes for an unpleasant ride for everyone.

I would say Temps will range from 35 in the am, and could go as high as 60 if conditions are perfect.

OOooohhhhh.....a very cherry  :cherry: SEEG for sale real soon.

You both already know what I think of that set up......it's over the top and you two will be the talk of the town with the bannana SEEG and matching Bushtec riding along with the Cherry SEEG and matching Bushtec.  So are you going to keep the SERG? :nixweiss:

Uh-ohhh, Roger's not helping you Don. :nervous:

What's the plan, you're going to drive back, pulling a trailer and bring it all home on a trailer?  What will the cows have to say about that? :)

Congratulations......I'm happy for you two! :2vrolijk_21:

By the way.....when Terrie and I went back there (Tenn. and Ga.) year before last, in Nov. it was below freezing.  There were a couple of areas that had ice.  You'll probably be on interstate though and not two lane roads.  You can do a google search on "average Dec. weather in .................(put it different citys along your route) and that will give you a pretty good idea. :2vrolijk_21:

HA HA!   I like your thinking Andy!! It would be like me spotting you and Ernie a few months back on the freeway riding the pumpkins. I knew in an instant that it had to be you and Ernie!! You don't see something like that everyday!!

Mid December isn't bad MOST of the time.  You can get some stuff, but usually it doesn't really start until January.  The highways have mostly been squared away, so you will have decent roads.  I just went to Flagstaff and I40 isn't too bad from OKC west.  From OKC east, it's really pretty good all the way to Knoxville now.  The temps can be all over the place, so wear layers.
