I have more than 31k on my SEUC5. Here are my observations compared to my SEUC4:
The biggest thing is the front tire. The SEUC4 used the #407 tire, then at some point the MoCo replaced the tire with the #408. I was replacing the #407 about every 10K miles on my SEUC4, due to excessive cupping, until my recent tire I put a #408 on it. On my SEUC5 with the #408 tire coming stock, I didn't replace it until I had 23k miles, and there was still no evidence of cupping, and I could have probably gotten another 3k miles on it but I was leaving on a 10k mile trip to the Florida Keys, so I had it replaced by my local dealer. The rear tire I am getting about 13k miles on it before replacing. It's the same tire on my '09 & '10.
As for other problems, none. I have concluded the MoCo makes a hell of a machine, made to ride & ride & start everytime. I generally change my oil every 2,500 miles and transmission and primary chaincase every 5,000 or less. It gives me an excuse to check out the local motorclothes girls around the country (I should say countries, including Canada. They are really hot up there, too) and to buy a T-shirt. When I'm on a competitive ride, sometimes I'll stretch the oil changes a bit longer than 2,500 miles. I use Syn3 in all holes because being on the road so much, it's a hassle trying to find other oil products, even though I prefer Mobil 1 Twin V 20w-50. I also change spark plugs every 5k miles. They are cheap. I also change the rear rubber isolator every two rear tire changes. It's only about $25 but it makes the bike start out much smoother when releasing the clutch. It will wear so just change it.
