After we left the Bridge overlook we rode down through Sausalito... which I want to go back to sometime for Fish Tacos, I hear they are good there. JC, Terrie, and I hit 1010 North where they split off at Santa Rosa and from there I was on my own. Needed to bust it up to Garberville before dark and I had a ways to go so I did what mmost of us do in this case... squeeze the throttle.  Got to Garberville and stopped at this little hotel for the night... I mean, they have free fax service so that sole me! :)

Had a chill from the ride so some hot Chili at the resturant next door would hit the spot...  or is this cheese soup? Can't tell.

Woke up the next morning early ready to ride the Avenue of the Giants... um, fog... and lots of it so I needed to wait it out.

While I was wating for the fog to burn off I took a stroll through "downtown" Garberville...  I can see we're not in Texas anymore. :)

hard to get perspective but this hole is big enough to ride my bike into... was going to try but ground was just too wet.

I had some friends from Texas tell me about HWY36 and how nice it was...  Two things to keep in mind if you ever ride this. 1) Prepare for just about every imaginable sight you can imagine and 2) Make sure you tank is full... because it's a LONG way across there and only ONE gas station. And this was on Thanksgiving weekend and even the ONE was closed. Much of this road is very remote... I think the highest elevation was 4200 feet or so.

I had JC look at this route before I left and asked if he thought their would be snow... he said, "nah, it's not that high of elevation, should be fine..."  so about 1 hour in I see this sign. :)  And yes, there was snow.
