Did you have it removed at the factory or what did you do about the holes?

I had it removed prior to delivery... Never really cared for the look, and with the wife riding her own Ultra there is little need for extra luggage on my ride!

Better gas mileage now.  :2vrolijk_21:

Well I had an interesting situation happen last night on Kasper. I was coming home on the freeway and decided to stop and get some Chevron gas. I went to put the nozzle in the tank and I noticed that the whole console moved to the left. As I was filling the tank with gas it was pouring out over the tank as I was putting it in. I was like WTF!!!!!. Well I put out the Cigar and decided I didn't want to be stranded and I put the cap on and headed for the house. I love fuel pouring back on my crotch!! Well I got home and tore the seat off and took the console loose and realized that the spanner nut that holds the guts in the tank had backed off and I had a wide open tank.(YIKES)!! Well this time I decided to make sure that spanner nut was well seated and I put the whole mess back together. I remember about 3 months ago when I changed the fuel filter that I was very delicate about tapping on the spanner nut and didn't want to over torque it but this is what happens if you don't get that spanner nut tight. All was good this morning on my early 5:00am ride!!DB

I have 28K miles on mine.  I had a ring gear and clutch replaced at 5k and had the rear cylinder replaced at 16K.  Since then no problems.

It was removed by my dealer prior to me taking delivery and they installed the chrome pieces to match the saddle bag lid strips as mentioned in the above reply #16.

Here's what it looks like...

Mine has been for the most part trouble free with the exception of the heated grips.  I did have the head work done per the recall but it hadn't been leaking anyway.  I'm very happy with it and plan to keep it as long as I'm able to ride!  Merry Christmas to all.

I guess I should say that mine has done well. No real issues and 10K on the ODO. Love the bike!

Have about 26,000 on mine and it is doing great, on my 5th set of grips and 2rd seat all covered under warranty.  Other than those things it's been a great bike.

Hey Dave, just put in the Heat Demons and you won't have to bother with them anymore. And they heat better than the HD ones.

Hey Dave, just put in the Heat Demons and you won't have to bother with them anymore. And they heat better than the HD ones.

I have 17K+ miles with no problems.  Never had the oil leak issue and recall work was done at 10K and has run fine since.  Only problem is with heated grips - I'm on my fourth set.  With regard to the "Heat Demons" reference above, I've copied this disclaimer from the Heat Demons website:

** For '08 and newer bikes with Electronic Throttle and 1¼" or Chubby bars, the ID of the HandleBars needs to be increased to .875".   Standard ID of 1¼" bars is .835".   HeatDemons will not fit in companion with the Electronic Throttle.   Those bars will need to be reamed out to .875" at a machine shop.

Did any of you that installed Heat Demons on a 2008 SEUC have to modify your handlebars to fit as mentioned above?
