We've played this gig before  :nixweiss:
To get the hit down low you need to open and shut the door fast and early (dynamic cylinder pressure at low rpm), now we are full circle back to where we started and parallel to the other thread. Woods 5 or CR575. ~30 overlap ~101 LSA about 100 intake CL. You and I talked on the phone several times about this, no free lunch. That high dynamic pressure comes at a cost, sacrafices. Doc summed it up well on another forum, you have a 2,000 and possibly as much as 2,500 rpm (w ported heads) sweet spot (highest part of the torque curve), choose where that is and order the parts to accomplish that. This is not that hard. It is not that hard to get the motor quiet and long lasting either.
BTW if you want you can call John Andrews and order up any cam you want they will grind it for you.
On a side note using ratio rockers is a good way to gain lift and not hammer the valvetrain as bad. Less side thrust on the lifters because the base circle does not have to be so small. One guy that gets this real well is Dick from Zippers or Dan Baisley.
There is no magic pill and lots of times the ol standby the 37 Andrews just seems to whoop some ass. Same as the EV27 was for an EVO

i did have a question in regardless.. had seen some chat back awehile about possibly some new choices..
don't look like its going to be anytime soon. will just do like ya say and pick something from what is available. Also your right about the folks that really understand the rocker ratios,

Ok lots more meat on the fire, we say over here.
The printout from GMR looks pretty good to my humble eyes: is it as nice to ride? How's it down low?
Still waiting to see Fullsac's one though... not to say that having somebody putting in the HR rollers Dewey was talking about would make me even happier!
C'mon guys living close to the gurus, take a chance! ;)

BTW, my heads were street portet by Bean @ Bigboyz in Maine and CR installed, but valves weren't touched: would the additional lift from the HR rollers kill the beehives soon?! :confused5:

Hey Don

I have a +4 gear on a 54 hitting the dyno next week.  :2vrolijk_21:

Steve
On a 110 or a 103, putting the 54 in next week. Any tricks I should know for the 110 install and what is +4

the +4 degree cam gear goes on the rear camshaft and advances the timing events 4 degrees

The +4 cam gear could be used on either. You'll need to look at the big picture thought to decide if its needed or necessary. This will be based on the cam timing and engine compression.

Not sure what that means. I just bought the cams and tuner from Steve at Fullsac. Was going to get the dealer to install. do I need to give them instructions on the install.

Skip the +4. You are already pushing the corrected compresion threshold and with that gear the bike will be a bear to tune the ping out and you don't have the luxury of compression releases so it will be very hard on starter drives and ring gears, plus be a pinger hot during the summer.

Ever wonder why the MOCO added a program retrofit of ACR compression releases to the 07 Police 103? Just for this reason and that 103 has a stock cam with a ~38° ABDC intake close. The SE255 closes 13° earlier.
