I got myself this '09 Suzuki V Strom 1000 for future a trip to the tip of Alaska. It's a blast to ride!

When are you going?  I would love to take that trip.  I need a months lead time so I can buy and equip the right bike.

Probably not until 20011, 2010 vacation is all booked up. I wanted to get the BMW but it was 8-10K more than I paid for the Strom.
A couple of the guys here have made the trip and posted links of their venture that inspired me. If you are interested in going in 2011, maybe we can hook up in Canada. This kind of trip definitely takes a lot of planing.  Roger

I would be interested.  That kind of trip would be fun depending on the route (preferably tough and dangerous), the riding skills and the physical condition of the other riders.  My riding skills do not limit me to pavement.  I have ridden dirt bikes since age 13, raced motocross as a teenager, quads, and still snowmobile every winter.

For reference, attached is a brochure from Aerostich Tours.  Their tours are costly and might be a tad too touristy for me.

Yea, that's the whole idea of me getting a dual sport. I have a XR 400 dual sport, and a CR250 but I've had to give up the track reciently as this ole body can't handle mistakes on those doubles anymore and the 400 is way too small so it's off to new adventures. The tour thing is out for me too.  Lot's of good advice and info on adventure forums for an Alaska trip though.

Over the next few weeks I will do some research on this and i definately want to be kept in the loop of your plans.  I will let you know 9 months in advance whether I am in for a given adventure trip or not.

Keep in touch.

Besides that great Christmas morning ride with my dad, I got to spend some time with theses rascals. Love them all!

My son gave me this black neon Screamin Eagle sign for Christmas.

I was told today by my local dealer today that all 428 Harley Dealer's in 1999 was given one these to promote the kick off of Screamin Eagle in 2000. This sign was not ''For Sale'' at the local dealer, my son negotiated a deal with the owner.

You know sales are slow when they start selling signs off the wall.

How awesome

Wow! Great picture AJ! :2vrolijk_21:

Debbie and I spent the day with family. We had a gas watching the little ones. This year Debbie and I decided to pass on buying anything for ourselves since we are blessed enough to get what we need when we want to, so this year we gave to those that were in need! What a joy it was. Plan on doing that from now on.  :2vrolijk_21:
