I prefer the Michelins, I put a set on my 07 SEUC. The factory might be moving in that direction, interesting.

Michelin tires have been approved for a while for several H-D bikes. I think in economically difficult times, the Moco wants some supplier competition in this area, specifically since some of the D 407's had issues, and other tires were simply discontinued.

Ride safely,

Louis is correct that Michelins have been approved for a while for several H-D bikes.

Michelin now has a Scorcher, which carries both companies’ trademarks on its sidewalls and the Harley-Davidson logo

carved into the shoulder.  They don't seem to have a 18" tire to fit the SERG3 but there is hope, after the D407 debacle.    :huepfenjump3:   :huepfenjump3:

Nor 17 or 18 radials for the SERK3/4's either! ;)

I have had great luck with Michelins on motorcycles, great tire, improved handling and ran a ton of miles.

to my knowledge the only bikes coming from the factory with michelins is the new wide glide. I could be mistaken but I think this is it. Michelins are however approved by harley for replacement tires in several applications.

Great on cars and trucks I have been using them for years. I'm putting a set on my 07 next month and will report back.

Any idea where the Michelins are made? At least the Dunlops are made in the US.

Check out the Michelin web site.

http://www.michelinmotorcycle.com/

They have something like 17 plants in North America, and supposedly at least one of them makes motorcycle tires.  As for the H-D co-branding, right now that appears to be only on the "Scorcher" series that is now standard on some Dyna models.  The web site has the full list of models.
