Mine howls and I don't have a belt.  I have a chain drive and it still does it.  It's the air going through the wheels.  I killed the motor and put it in neutral.  Howled quite loud.  I hear it from the front wheel.  It's definately not a wheel bearing.  They usually growl or squeal.  It's been doing it for 2 years and has never gotten any louder or changed in any way.  If something was failing, it would get worse. I just ignore it.

I had a similar turbine sound start after my first oil change. I figured it was the primary due to different oil level on refill or some other fluid issue. Got louder piper and can't hear anything now.

Try killing the engine and listening.  My noise did not go away, which eliminates the engine and primary.  Bike was in neutral.

Did the same thing... Pulled the clutch and coasted downhill. Wind howl was from the wheels, back wheel mainly.

I noticed this same type of sound from day 1 of riding my 2012.  I was convinced that something was wrong with the bike but I was assured there was not.  I have 4500 miles now and I still hear the sound...I just don`t worry about it anymore.  I think it has to do with the wheel design as well.  If it`s the same sound you describe...you`re probably fine...
