I finally bought a set of Rineharts and a SERT
« on: January 15, 2006, 07:48:00 AM »

Yesterday, I finally did what I've wanted to do from day I bought my SEEG.  I went by the dealership and they were having a sale so I finally bought a set of Rineharts and a SERT.  I'm scheduled to take the bike down to have everything installed and tuned on the 24th.  I've had a set of SE Performance 2 piece slip-ons, Stage 1 AC and the Stage 1 download up till now. I hope I don't regret my decision. Here's my question, ok folks I'm about to show my ignorance of all things mechanical, what should I make sure I get back from the dealership when I pick the bike up?  Obviously all the take-offs, but what about parts related to the SERT and anything else I should ask for?  You all always have good advice and insight on anything to do with these bikes so I appreciate any suggestions you might have.

There's no "take off" parts with the SERT.  Just ask that the entire package is returned to you after used to tune your bike.  You will want to use it again if you make any further mods to the bike or any major repair work is done.

Thanks for the reply BLM, I left all the parts at the dealership for the install and didn't see what was in the SERT box.  I'm assuming a cable, software (CD) and a manual.  Anything else?

Tbone, to be just a bit more specific, in the SERT box there is:

1. Serial port cable (connects from your computer to the SERT Computer Interface Module);

2. Cable to connect the Computer Interface Module to the ECM connector on the bike;

3. Computer Interface Module;

4. CD with software, user's manual and list of calibrations (maps).

Also suggest you get your tuner to give you a copy of the final custom map which ends up in your ECM after the dyno tuning is complete.

I suspect you will, if your dyno guy is any good.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Tbone,
  Excellent choice!  Which baffles?  2 1/2" I would assume.  You should see a 9-12 HP increase.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Later--HUBBARD

Tbone,

They come with a 2 1/4 now from BUB.   The only way for the last 18 months to get the 2 1/2 is to order them that way or to buy the just the baffles from BUB and switch them out the cost is 99.00 for the set of 2 1/2 baffles plus shipping.

Hubbard the 2 1/4 will run better on the 103 than the 2 1/2 for a stock 103.   I prefered the 2 1/2 loudness / sound over the 2 1/4's, but when on the dyno the 2 1/4 out performed the 2 1/2's on my bikes anyway.   I still have a set of the 2 1/2" baffles somewhere in the garage, but wouldnt recommend them for a stock setup unless someone was willing to give up a little to get the bark or the 2 1/2's.
