I am thinking this new LED Tour-Pak/Tail Lamp Kit will not work on your 09.
YES, anything can be MADE to work.
What about the holes (big holes) left in the tour pak from removing the existing lights?
What about the Screamin Eagle script plate?
Who knows how the paint looks under that light bar.

SBB

I think it will cover the holes, just by comparing the two

http://www.harley-davidson.com/browse/browse_zoom_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448774741&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302491575&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302491575&bmUID=1264557982545&bmLocale=en_US

But you'll definitely loose the SE name plate, unless of course you could find some place to paint it on.

One thing they neglet to mention is the need to purchase a 2010 tour pac liner, if you're wanting to pick up the additional space in it.

It says it fits 1997 and later king tour packs.  They even mentioned they painted it black to match most colors (must not know us CVOer's).

You just don't know if when removing your old lights and screamin eagle if any paint will pull off the tourpack.  And as Grizzly stated, will need a new liner to get all of the additional space where the corner lights were.

Someone will have to be the guinea pig and let us know.

I'll let everyone know when its finished but for now I don't see any problem other than matching the paint. The piece is suppose to be a replacement therefore it should cover everything the original did. Yes, the "Screaming Eagle" will be gone but to me the additional rear lighting is well worth rippin' off the identification/advertisement. Even H-D gave it up! Holes inside the tour pak, big holes, sure ... but again easily fixed from within plus a new linner will offer more internal space. I think it's goin' to work just fine. I'm moving forward. :)

Boatman,
I took my lightbar off last night and did not have a problem with the paint coming off. It took a carpet knife with a hook blade on it to cut the bathroom sealant from around the lights on the inside of the tp. There is two thin strips of butyle under the lightbar between the lights . Just pull the bar off of the bike slow after you get each end of the bar free of the white sealant in the tourpack. The buytle sealent moves slow and streaches as you remove the bar.

I've been working on this idea for a couple weeks. It will fit in any tourpak, and you'll have to cut some additional holes, no problem. Make sure you remove the caulking on the inside before re
moving the old one and it should pop right out.
The biggest obstacle is cost. That light bar with everthing you need to have it look like it belongs, will run you over 1k just for that, unless you guys have stumbled across something else.

How so, Larry?  The kit lists at $479.95, so the 20% off places will be doing it at around $384.00. I had my black one <older type> painted for around $130.00 - the only other thing you'd need (and it's not an essential) would be a new tourpak liner.  That wouldn't cost $486, even though it is a MoCo part!  :D

Or am I missing something......?  :nixweiss:

when I started looking at this, Harley had not come out with the kit, I was looking at getting this piece by piece, which made the price higher. my local dealer put a part list together that would have accomplished the same thing.
This is good that HD made this part available. I need to fire off an email to someone about this. thanks

Would be kewl if the lens wasn't red - red turn signals are illegal most places outside the US.

Okay man you guys, I like this mod. I would like to see if it can work. Now I have the ridetime lights in the tour pak. Will they work.
