A Diesel bike?
« on: January 29, 2010, 08:04:20 AM »

I was flipping through the channels last night, and saw American Chopper, where they were building a diesel powered bike.  Has anyone seen a bike with a diesel engine, and if so do you have some pics?  I have long been interested in the prospect of putting a diesel engine in a bike, but realize how potentially difficult it could be.

I saw one in Hill City about three years ago.  It had a 3-cylinder hooked up to a hydraulic pump for the drive.  Really well done.  Sounded a little strange since it ran at a constant rpm.

India sells a Diesel Bike that is based on an old BSA if I remember right.  Gets about 100 mpg, and motors along really nice.  I will try and find the link for it... no found it its a Royal Enfield  design
