The town's motto......."Be Here When It Happens".

Parkfield averages an earthquake of 6.0 or greater every 22 years.  Of course they have many, many smaller quakes.  I guess this is where they got the idea of the happy cow commercial.

Across the street from the grill they have the lodge.  Yes, they have a few rooms for rent.  The only two business in this little community.

Only two roads back into this community.  Of course we had to take the other road back out......

The day, the roads, the views and lack of traffic just continued to be unbelieably remarkable!

Another 20 or 30 miles back out to the highway.  I could have rode these kind of roads all day long.......oh yea, we did.

Eventually we made it out to the hiway in Cholame or what's also known as James Dean corner.  It's the intersection where James Dean crashed his new Porsche and died.  This little cafe has an intersting little James Dean museum in a room in the back.

And another little highway, the back way into Atascadero.  Jock will remember some of these roads.

Soon we were back on Hwy. 101 headed south when we came upon this 46 International diesel truck pulling a flatbed with an old milk truck on it.  The International was in awsome condition, ran well and even sounded great.
