Don't fit my 2009 SERG, sticking to the Avon Cobra's. :orange:

Similar looking tread, but the rear is a dual compound like the D407 whereas the E3 is the old single compound construction.  I didn't find this new offering on the Dunlop site yet, so I can't tell if they intend to offer it in anything other than the two sizes noted in the link from the first post.

I talked to the Dunlop reps at the dealer show about these tires. They will be made in sizes and load ratings to fit the 09+ baggers. The 407/408 tires are exclusive to HD dealers and not availible to the aftermarket shops or distribution. These new tires will be the alternative. They are expected to be availible by end of April.

In Jim's opinion, since you most likely will be selling these are they just as good as the 408/407 or better or the same?
I buy the 408/407 from Harley because there is no other game in town, but choices are good.

Glad to hear about the new Dunlop.  My rear donut is going to need to be replaced soon.

I was surprised when my noisy 407f was replaced with the quiet 408f...I can now hear the rear tire howling.
Being surrounded by the exhaust and bags it is not nearly as annoying as the front was, but it is obviously cupped as well.

I was putting off replacing it hoping for a better alternative.  Now maybe I have one.

Have not seen them to comment on quality but according to the Dunlop Reps they are suppose to be a better tire than the 407 / 408's

Jim

Based on past experience I am very pleased with my 407 rear and 408 front tires.

If they are better then they will be on my 09 SEUC.

End of April... damn. I just got a new shoe for the rear today. Oh well, at least I got 20% off at the dealer.

I just tried to order this tire and they tell me not available until end of August.

Bummmer!

I don't want another cuppin' howling' 407.  I might not have a choice.  Anyone running the ME880's?

Need a 180/65B-16 81H.

I ran the ME880's on my '09 CUSE, they lasted about 5K, rubber is way too soft.
