Personally I think the factory CVO cover is crap and can cause damage because the cotton twill does not "Breathe" properly. Let me explain. When I had my first CVO, a 2001 SERG, it was garaged the first winter for 2 months or so with the factory CVO cover. When I took the cover off in the spring the mirrors were pitted and corroded badly along the top edges. (I don't live in high moisture winter climate; in fact it is dry). What I concluded warmer air with water vapor/moisture rose up under the covered bike

Well, as long as we're guessing......they advertise that cover as a 'indoor' cover, so I doubt it's got any water repellant in it.

I think Pana-Guy hit on something here [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif], if the cover does have a waterproofing and you remove it by washing it, then that may have eliminated the damage done to his other CVO [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]. The waterproofing would keep the moisture in as well as out, so maybe the thing to do is TOO WASH it and remove the waterproof as most only use the cover when parked at home [smiley=nixweiss.gif]......Wrongway.
P.S. Kyle Busch is gonna kick your  [smiley=oops.gif] this year.

My CVO cover doesn't fit with the higher windshield and moved Tour pak.  The Outdoor one I got from Aerostich is nice though --good choices there at aerostich.com.  Nice & compact.  DREBBIN

Yea, I got a couple of covers now that I rarely use except when traveling, so I think my CVO cover will stay in the unopened package until resale day.

Interesting..........

I have CVO covers on both the SED & the SEEG, and they seem to work fine keeping most of the dust out.  We live about three miles from the Pacific Ocean so I get a film on the chrome from the salt content in the air if left out exposed when the kids have the garage door open when riding their scooters and bikes.  Just my .02
