Any one familiar with after market pipes for the 110..? Need some sound and want some performance out of them also. Purchased a Super Tuner but waiting on feedback before commiting to the pipes.
Thanks in advance

Since your thread is asking for exhaust/tuning (ECM) questions I've moved it to the specific board for that so you may receive some answers to your questions. If you want to start a new thread in the Member Intro board to introduce yourself feel free to do that.

2010FLSTSE,

Congrats on the new ride. I happen to be partial to the orange FLSTSE myself. :beam: There are a couple of threads in the FLSTSE forum actively discussing the pipe options. So far the favorites are the HD Screamin' Eagle 49 state slip-ons and some are using the Rush 1.75" mufflers. There is one person running the one-of-a-kind Fullsac 1.75" baffle (it was a prototype that has not gone into production....yet) and others like me who cannot wait for the Fullsac production model and building my own version of it.

Mr. Wizard has some great TTS maps for the FLSTSE so if you have not "broken the seal" on the super tuner you can get a head start with your tuning.

Thanks to all who have posted today on my question. Why the 1-3/4" baffles? And can these be put on without any remapping? I ordered a set of Rush, slip ons, but I think the baffles are 2 or 2-1/2". I am just trying to get some sound at this point... don't like sneeking up beside cars on the interstate.

I do not have my baffles in yet but from what others have posted the 1.75" are plenty loud on the 110. As you start to go beyond that you start to compromise low end performance due to the reduced back pressure for minimal gains in volume (experts please correct me if I am wrong here). At 2 1/2" you need to seriously start thinking about tuning to get the most out of the engine. I am learning as I go as well but this is my understanding of it so far.

Since the head pipes are so short on this bike, as are the muffler cans, you will find the 1.75 as loud as the 2.0 on most touring bikes. MikeV is correct, if you relieve your back pressure too much you will lose some low end torque. Your already lean condition will simply become leaner and this will create heat and motor issues.

This is where one needs to say, your bike is very personal as is your sound and performance needs. Suggest you continue to read the pertinent threads here and make a decision based on facts to help you come to the best solution for you then ride it like you stole it. Enjoy...

I also just purchased a 010 FLSTSE and wanted to updated the pipe(sound) and cool the engine down. I'm considering the V&H Pro Pipe BP 2 to 1 pipe. I also think I'm going with the Commander V with the Auto Tune.  If anyone has suggestions I'm all ears.......Mike why the TTS over the Commander V? Most of the stuff I have read the Commander V is really highly recommend. I spoke with Fuel Moto today and they will ship the unit with an installed base map for this pipe set up, so it sounds like it would be plug and play(ride).

Your thoughts???

YPguy,

There are pro's and cons to each system and I am still wading my way through all the info. I guess it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. For me, the TTS made sense because I wanted a tuner that had a robust feature set and did not require any additional hardware installed on the bike. There are other FLSTSE owners on the forum who are expert level tuners and their success and willingness to help made the decision a no brainier for me. Do your homework and read about each system so you make the right choice for you. The worst thing is having to spend your hard earned cash twice...

One other thing you may want to check - I understand from a previous post that the PCV will not fit under the seat of the FLSTSE. You might want to search that and verify.
