Screamin Beagle,
What is that [highlight]drip pan[/highlight] (plastic cup) on the table lift collecting?  A clear liquid from the bike's exhaust???   [smiley=drink.gif]

When I stopped into a local shop that was listed as a distributor for one of the lift brands, I was at the right place at the right time.  I picked up a Handy B.O.B. (the mechanics referred to it as the Big Old Bastard).  It was difficult to run the bikes up on it as it sets up high on the floor.  If the floor was recessed it would be great.
Well for $500 bucks with all the attachments (side panels for ATV's), I could not move fast enough to rent a trailer to haul it away before the owner changed his mind!

Are we talking about the same lift?

http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?pid=00950190000&vertical=TOOL&cs=e1

This sears jack will not go under my 05 SEEG without it being on 2x6's, at least not while it is sitting on the kickstand.
Are you keeping the bike upright with the sears jack?
Porthole,
This is the jack I have. What I do is as I'm pushing jack under bike I pull on the grip (throttle side grip) to stand the bike upright, and jack will slip under frame. Try this and see if it helps.

I had that jack/lift but I didn't like it as it was to tall to get under my scooter, without using wood.
I sold it to a guy for $50 and he is still using it and he has no issues with it, just didn't fit my scoot, like I wanted

I have one of those too that you listed but it doesnt fit under the bikes without using something else to raise the bike first.

This is the one I was referring too.   So far I like it and it seems very stable with my bikes on it.

I use a craftsman bike lift. It's inexpensive like 129.00 or something. It works fine for me. Hope it helps. Later,Q

I have the same lift, and used it on my RK. The balance on this bike feels different. Where do you place it so you can still get to the oil drain plug?

Got my new J&S lift in a couple of days of ordering and tried it out yesterday.

I ordered the extra cost "Big Wheel" version. The wheels are a different material, bigger and have grease-able axles, Jim at J&S promised me it would roll easy with the big bike.

First problem I had, it rolls so easy it rolls around my slightly uneven garage floor!

I was able to get under the bike with only the slightest "push" with the bike sitting on the kick stand. No juggling required.

Anyone want to buy a pair of 2x6 angled ramps with non skid on the bottom with matching kickstand block?

It jacks easy, I was able to move the bike around driveway, which is concrete and had seen better days thanks the previous owners use of salt.

There are two bolts in the rear frame of the jack, which I assume are to lock the jack to the floor, although the bolts on mine are not long enough to do anything.

The jack is very wide compared to others which is probably why it is so stable. No guessing where to put the rails on the SEEG for even jacking either, just slide the jack with the rear rail in the frame cross member.

The bike lowers very smoothly. That is the one thing I really disliked about the Sears jack.

I also ordered the oil drain pan
http://www.jsjacks.com/accessories.htm

At first glance when removing it from the box I thought it was kind of expensive for the what it is, a piece of stamped steel.

But it fit nicely on the jack and seems as though it will catch all the oil and spill all the oil into a pan rather then in, on the sides, on the jack and on my floor.

The pan looks like it could use some additional length on one side but I haven't drained the oil yet to try. When the bike comes back from the dealer I will do an oil change and I will give it a try.

It certainly isn't the cheapest or most expensive jack, but it is everything they advertise it to be and I like it, and they give members of this site a discount.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

If you already have a jack that you aren't very happy with but hesitated buying another because it seemed like a waste of cash .... like others have said , we're talking 30K bikes here.

Besides, is there anyone here who has not bought something for their bike and then never used it or took it off after trying the item?
