help with exhaust for my new CVO ULTRA BLK
« on: March 28, 2010, 10:23:15 PM »

My new SE ULTRA BLK  would be here in may.
Trying to figure out the right setup. On my 2009 CVO RG I got bub 7 true dual with big city t buffels and Rinehart slip ons. Wife wants something less load, iwant something with a deeper tone. The RG set up just seems at times as if its a hallow tin cans... So Iam thinking, Rush slipps? Cobra? V & H Ovals? or just Rinehart slip ons without the rest? Payton? I dont know... I want it to stay chrome and for sure 2 tail pipes (no 2 into 1)
any ideas?

I had the V&H Monster Ovals on my last two bikes and have the Rinehart slip-ons on my new 2010...I believe both have a similar deep tone.  I don't care much for a loud obnoxious sound and I liked both of these setups.  There are a couple of vendors on eBay offering the monster ovals for $499 shipped.  They are a great looking can under the bags of an Ultra...IMO... :2vrolijk_21:

Do your Rinehart Slipons have the quiet bafflels or the standard big bore performance?

Yes quiet bafles for the RineHarts are a must.

I don't know which one I have...I worked the mufflers in on the deal when I bought the bike.  How do you tell the difference?

The easy way is to remove the end pieces and remove the baffle.  Only need to do one side to determine.  The sooner you remove it the better.  The get harder to remove with miles.  Don't even have to remove from the bike.

Bought my baffle material from Fuel Moto.  Good stuff.

See, my problem is, i took the quiet baf's out... replaced them with big city thunder baf's... also combined with the true dual system its just to laod for me...
So, Im thinking for this bike what can I do to have a nice rich deep sound but not to load?

I have tru-duals (Freedom) and use the stock 4" CVO muffler with Fullsac 2" baffles.  Not bad till you jump on it :orange:
