BUB 7 Mufflers
« on: March 29, 2010, 10:04:57 AM »

I have been running the BUB 7 mufflers on stock head pipes and my 09 FLHTCUSE4. The sound was just what I had been looking for.  Now I have installed the V&H Power Duals and the BUB's have become much louder.  I removed the endcaps the other night and found that there is not any baffle wrapping in the muffler at all.  If I wrap these baffles will this give me a deep tone,  kinda muffle the sound a bit,  right now it is pretty loud,  would like to get it back a little deeper like it use to be.  And if I do wrap these baffles is this going to affect the way the bike has been tuned.  I had it on a DYNO with the SESRT installed and the bike runs great,  just waiting on the hot weather to see if this cools it down any, but I don't want to do anything to these mufflers that might cause me a problem with the way the bike is tuned.

I believe the change in headpipes changed your sound and not the lack of insulation.  If the baffles come out, I would try wrapping them.  Members have reported a deeper sound with packing.  I don't believe you would need redyno tuning.  Just my thoughts, others will know better.

I agree.  i wrapped my Rioneharts and the sound was deepened as well as reduced.

No retune needed.
