Resale on supposed high end choppers is terrible. There is a reason no speedo is installed, so no one knows how few miles are put on these "Art bikes"

I suspect the family fee was renegotiated lower by TLC, to make the show profitable for the network.

It is all about making money - both by TLC and the Tuetal family. That is the total bottom line.

BTW - it is bad TV

I don't think it's ever been about building motorcycles.  It's the story of a dysfunctional family not unlike the millions out there in TV land.  Some watch because they identify.

A lot of people claim they don't watch it, and maybe they don't. But I do and here's why...

It's kinda like eating fish... Take away the cleaning, gutting, and mess. Then cook it, and sort out all the bones. what's left tastes pretty good... most of the time.

In other words, the little parts about some cool looking paint, neat ideas, Rick's craftmanship and a few select others (plus the occasionally entertaining Mikey antics), it's ok. Or at least better than Dancing With The Stars (stars, really?), or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Let's face it... how many other tv shows have motorcycles in them? Maybe they're not the motorcycles I'd ride/buy, but at least they're motorcycles.

I like motorcycles so much that I will watch almost any show that features them.  Throw in the family dysfunction and drama and it makes it fun.  I am here to "Enjoy the Ride."
