We will be in Erie on the 9th on our way to Cleveland and hope to be there around noon for lunch. No meeting place has been determined yet, but stay tuned. It will be great to see you again after MV.

I was just looking and found this place  http://local.yahoo.com/info-11954023-smugglers-wharf-incorporated-erie#overview

but I would rather hear it from a local.   Doc

Well today was the shake down day after spending the big bucks getting the bikes ready. We left a day early to avoid bad weather tomorrow here in Flagstaff, Az. The Route 66 bunch had the same idea so tonight the town is full of bikes from the run. We met up with Amigo George a day early also and what a great guy. Terry and I enjoyed his company and stories tonight and its all set for the SoCal crew to take good care of him when he gets to Santa Monica.
As far as the bikes, we had a wonderful day until the rear rocker box erupted and spilled oil all over the bike and Terry and quess what, same thing happened to Keith (bubba love) plus his clutch went out. Tomorrow will be a recovery day, and I'm glad we have it even if it rains.
So far it was worth every oily minute of it and hopefully we will get everything straightened out tomorrow. Reminds me of the ol shovel head days. :drink:   Doc

We walked to little Mom and Pop diner that was named "Restaurant" and had home made meat loaf. It was great and we had to bring some back with us for lunch today. Its raining this am and the bike will be in the shop the beers cold and we have left overs so what's to complain about.  :drink:  Doc

Hot damn.  Another trip to look forward to reading about every day while at work....I mean after work.  It's like having Huell Howser on a Harley, albeit a leaky one.  And really, is there any other kind?

Best of luck the rest of the trip and keep the photos coming.

So when we get together in Albuquerque on Friday, we'll have to go to Sadie's on 4th St. I tried to get Amigo Jorge and his friend Miguel out on Monday night but they have a late lunch in Santa Fe at La Fonda on the Plaza.

Today we saw a little break in the weather in Flagstaff and decided to ride the leaky bike to Albuquerque to have it fixed and spend another day with the inlaws. The clouds parted long enough to get us out of town and then rained hard the rest of the way. We ended up going straight to the dealer and where greeted nicely by the SM and they took the bike right in and agreed to store the Bushtec in the showroom. Wow, now thats service  :2vrolijk_21: I promised the staff a case of beer if they clean that oily mess of a bike up and they jumped on it.
Terry's sister picked us and our gear up and now we are at her beautiful house up in the hills somewhere in the pines. Hey the beers cold, we are dry, and the bikes in good hands...its all good.  Doc
