You might want to look again Jim, the Electra Glide Classis has a 96" engine and the 103" Power Pak isn't available.  And really, the Limited would be what you describe, and it does have the 103"....

I looked again - that's why I posted what they sent me!  (Picture above) Of course it wouldn't be the first time they mailed out dud info!  ;D

Of course the Road Glide Ultra has the 103" standard on it.....they do some strange stuff....oh well....it's theirs to do I guess.  Nothing made me jump up and run to the dealer yesterday.....my '07 is gonna be around another year.

Oh yeah...except this....I already have one, but they added the 103 to it.....I do have something I HAVE to get now. ;)

Isn't that where you're suppose to hide your spare key?

That's a great idea, but with the heat of the 110, it would melt!

If you take the lowers off, then you lose 2 speakers.....I can do without the lowers, the bike is hot enough as it is.

If you go with that thinking, nothing's been done with the Ultra that couldn't/hasn't been done with the P&A book. I think Moco is on the right track this year.
Hey Rob,

I tend to agree with that statement by itself.  The problem is that as a whole, there's nothing that can't be done with the P&A book.  This years models, CVO and otherwise, are really the exact same thing as last year but with some different P&A stuff here and there.  The Road Glide is cool.  But I'd rather buy the '09 which was much cooler and add a TourPak, Lowers and CB.

After so many years now with no major change or refinements other then the touring frame, I'd like to see the MoCo do something to attract a broader audience.  We're all getting old(er?)  and I'd like to see the MoCo kicking ass and taking names like it did in the 90s.  One, to ensure an option for my kid to always buy American and two because I'm a sentimental bastard.  Really, the '02 V-Rod is the last major innovation.  ABS, Touring Frame, were big, but not major, and I'd personally say that the 96/110 upgrade and 6 speed were not as big as the hype made it out to be.

I'd buy one of these bikes because they're what I like.  But since I have one that isn't missing anything of significance (sorry Jeff, I've ridden the new framed bike and it's nice, but not worth trading mine over) that's available on these bikes I'll pass.  Many of the people I've talked to feel the same way.  So if a bunch of the loyalists like me are happy and staying with what we've got, and the youngins are looking jap and german, then the MoCo will continue it's downward spiral.  Just my opinion and I hope like hell that I'm wrong.

Ride Safe,
JC

J-Carr,

I hear ya. I just feel that with what they have to work with, there are not a lot of changes that can be made. I think these are better than the 09's because they come with everything a CVO should come with (trunk, lowers, passenger floorboards, etc). I don't know what they could radically do without it being a huge financial risk (flop). To us, its -yawn- because we are spoiled and used to all the things these bikes come with. We live and breath this stuff every week if not every day. To someone who's coming into our "age group" (getting older) its -WOW!-.

I tell ya, I am struggling with getting rid of my current ultra. I agree with you on the frame thing. Other than the wider rear tire, I think it corners worse (drags more) and rides stiffer. However, that being said, It is the smoothest riding/running (103 upgrade) bike I have ever had. It's close to perfect. BUT...I miss the RG I had before (stock built to 103 and FBI kit) because I think it is even a better handling, smoother touring bike than the Ultra. I also miss the power of the 110. Although, the reason I went back to a stock Ultra was to get the color I wanted (Black) and to get away from the problems of the 110.  ???  :P

My current 103 has 255 cams which according to Doc run hotter then the Andrews 54(?). I have a small heat issue that I have not been able to get rid of on this bike. I have changed pipes and used 2 different tuners (SSERT and now Mastertune) to no avail. I don't recall having this problem with my 07 RG built with the same engine. That could be my main deciding factor to go ahead and trade. I know the 110's are hot, but I was able to tame that on my 07 and 09 Ultras.

I have my name on the Charcoal/Black one, but they won't get their feelings hurt if I let it go to someone else I'm sure. Not sure what any of this had to do with our original discussion but I enjoyed the conversation!  ;D

When I read about the SERG making a comeback in 2011 shortly after I found and bought my 2009, I was a little concerned that I may have bought too early. Now, after seeing the new one, I am very happy with what I bought!   :jalapeno:

I couldn't agree more... And I don't even own a RG, but the '09 is an awesome bike!
