I hate to be negative, but does anyone other than me think that these bikes are getting ridiculously more and more expensive?  With all the problems I'm reading about, what's the deal here?  It seems as though whatever the MoCo puts out, we will buy...no matter how expensive they are.  My '05 doesn't run hot, doesn't break down and has plenty of power.  Outside of a couple of the colors in the entire new lineup, it looks as though they had a blind man (or woman) pick them!  Just my opinion...

Completely agree - I told our dealer principal that he'd sold me the last CVO I'd buy, (I'd bought three new CUSE models in three years!) when they put the price here up twice in 6 months (plus we had a tax increase on them) from around $37000 to $48000.  He asked me why, and I told him because 1) they are just not worth the money, or anything close - I could buy a loaded BMW 3 series car for that!!! - and 2) because I won't be ripped off. I can afford to buy one if I want, but I'm not stupid enough to pay that, as it really is just a ripoff.

Wow!  I thought I'd really catch some flak over my post.  I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who feels that prices are getting out of hand.  I wonder what would happen if the new CVO's just sat on the floor?  I'm sure that you'd see the prices falling.  By the way.  If anyone's interested in an '05 with LOW miles, here's a link I found on Ebay...

I wonder what would happen if the new CVO's just sat on the floor?

I wish they WOULD - people paying the prices (especially here in the UK) that they are asking simply have more money than sense, plain and simple.  Nothing to do with being able to afford it, just encouraging the ripoff.  £30,000 (and going up again here!) for a bike?!?!?!  That's just plain stupid.  But there are some guys who just have to have the latest that  the MoCo offers, and will pay any price.  Among them are many, I think, who suffer from the old "Emperor's New Clothes" syndrome - they fall over themselves to pay stupid prices for a bike that's really, really ugly to most folks, but try hard to convince themselves it looks great.  It MUST look great, because it's a CVO, right?  Wrong.  For most folks, Harleys are about nice colours, and chrome.

Just my 2¢ worth.......

Well said.  It all boils down to freedom of choice.  I choose NOT to give up my hard earned money for something that I feel is over priced and over hyped.  Don't get me wrong, I love my CVO.  But I knew I was going to have to wait a couple of years and look for a stock one with low miles because I wasn't going to pay over $30,000 for it.  If and when I get rid of it, I will probably look for one a couple of years old again and save about $10,000.

Haters.  :P
Haha - While I like my 2006 SEUC, and my 2004 SED, I have to admit that there are a number of features on the more recent SEUC's that interest me. I think the auto-locking is very cool. I also like the 6 speed, 6 gallon tank, new Ipod controller, and a few other things too. While I can upgrade some of this stuff, at some point it's better off just to buy a new one.

I was really hoping that I was going to be knocked out by the 2011 SEUC's paint schemes, and was actually very shocked to see one color which was essentially the same design as the 2010's. What's with that? The good thing is, I like what I have and I am more than willing to hold out until they come up with something I like more. At the rate they're going, I'm guessing it would take a total revamp, with a liquid cooled balanced motor, a new inner with modern electronics. But, only God knows how far that's down the road.

I took a short ride this morning to see the new CVO Street Glide. I for one always that thought that black was beautiful, but the new black diamond is outright gorgeous.I think that this is the best looking bike Harley Davidson has produced to this date. I also agree that it is a chitload of money. Although compared to my 08 SERK @ $30 thousand, $33 thousand doesn't seem out of line when you consider that you get hard bags, full fairing lowers and a radio. I missed buying the first one that my local dealer had, but I am next on the list. Now all I need to do is make my beautiful, fun loving, considerate, intelligent wife see what a great deal this is. kb

I would bet my house on the fact we will see at least one 2011.5 model year FLHTCUSE with another paint sheme.  Just look at how much hype they got out of the 2010.5.  Looks like HD is working hard at the HYPE!

You simply cannot add to a non-CVO bike and get it equipped like a CVO for the same cost. And, if you do, you still don't have the CVO paint and some special features/trim.
My feeling is that if you like what comes on a CVO, they are a great deal.

Adding lowers and upgrading the stereo on my '10 Spiced Rum cost me more than the increase in price from '10 to '11 SESGs. No way I could afford to trade my '10, but I think the '11 SESGs are a good value and look fantastic. But, of course, not inexpensive.

Wait a year and you'll be able to get these bikes new under MSRP.  Bought my 09 SERG in March for $28,000.  There are still new 09 and 10 CVOs available.  They produce more than they used to and the demand is less.  Don't get screwed.

Sure wish I could find a Silver 09 New for $28,000. Tried to buy one a few months ago from a dealer in NY that was used (but less than 2000 miles) and they wanted almost MSRP for it.
