The little bit of old oil that remains won't cause a problem when you change brands.  People do this stuff all the time without flushing the entire system, in cars, trucks, motorcycles, lawnmowers, and whatever else you can think of, and it's not a problem.  As previously mentioned, don't just dump in 4 quarts like the book says.  The smart way to do it is to add 3 quarts, run the engine at idle for a minute to fill the filter and cooler, shut it down and check the oil level with the dipstick.  Add oil only until it reads between 1/3 and 1/2 of the way between ADD and FULL.  When you check the oil hot, you don't want it to be more than 2/3 of the way between ADD and FULL.  This is to prevent blowby into the air cleaner.

This is "very important" if using aftermarket breathers like the "Whimmer" where they vent into the air with no return to the crankcase. With agressive riding Oil will spew from these breathers all down the side of the bike if the oil is at the fill line on the stick.

thanks bro i just had a new twist we stopped in tenesee to get my old 10 cvo seat warranted and wife seen a ruby red cvo well guess what she thought the seat was more confy so here we go again
