Yes...and no. I happen to be in that window right now. I have a 07 Black & Orange. I would have to say that if it has EXACTLY the amount of chrome you want it would be a good start. However, the factor that weighs the heaviest is risidule value.  I paid $35K for my machine, put another $5K in it, so I have $40K in it.  The bike does not have EXACTLY what I want on it. A bike just like it is on sale here on the forum that has much more on it than mine and he can't seem to garner $27K.

I would probably, well absolutely, not by a new one again...My plan right now is, that if they make a 2011 SERG, I will wait one year until the 2012 (which will be six months from the end of the world, so I better hurry) comes out, it will drop the 2011 prices, and then by one of those and make it like I want it.

And don't forget...Harley will have to make a water cooled engine available in more bikes in the future because they cannot continue meeting the EPA standards and not.

Which brings me to my next point by default; Why does the EPA even care what is coming out of our exhausts? How many motorcycle exhausts does it take to equal one Semi-Truck?

But I digress....

Jerry/MD  I would not go back to a non CVO. However, I still like to ride my 95 Heritage with S&S107 and six speed. CAHDBIKER

Funny this was brought up. I went to my local dealer with a Road King in mind and a budget to adhere to. My two choices boiled down to a turquoise and white 2009 classic that was a rental bike that I had ridden last year with 10K miles, and my 03 CVO. Having ridden both of them, I knew I would have to change the bars and the seat on the 09 just to be comfortable for any distance. My 03 just fit me perfect. I do wish I had lower vibes of the 09, but that is the only thing that I like better. Looks are no competition, power is no competition, and comfort is no competition. Sadly, I doubt I will ever be able to afford a new CVO, but in a few years, I will probably get a used CVO street glide or used CVO ultra to hopefully add to the stable.

NEVER
I was at my first gathering since buying the bike yesterday...  Lots of nice bikes,,, but mine was the only CVO out of 1000 bikes,, and a lot of people gathered around to look at her.  Lots of approving looks and great comments

Oh and to the topic would I want a non CVO = No would I buy any Harley if it was 50% below low wholesale trade in = Hell Yes all depends on the deal!

(Also applies to Boats, Corvettes and many shiny objects)

NO Just went to a 2010 SEUC from an 08 SEUC. Once you go CVO and especially an Ultra there's no going back.

As a second bike, yes.  If my circumstances changed and it was a non-cvo or no bike, then yes, without wasting a second to think about it.

Love my CVO, had lots of other Harleys BUT...
to date
3 separate recalls
2 painted pieces replaced 'cause of bad paint...one is the outer fairing
chrome on tank-both sides- replaced
one stuck throttle at highway speed
CD player now needs to be serviced..skips
Less than 5000 miles on the bike.
It's a great ride, goes fast, turns heads but the build is very disappointing for the hype
Anyone else  ave quality issues?

I actually fell in love with the O/B 2000 FLTRSEI that my good friend owns.

Nothing else really rang my bell... I bought my 03 Fatboy, rode the crap outta that.... bought an 08 Street Glide during the 1.05% finance deal HD offered....

Then 6 months after that HD announces the 09 CVOs... and of course... FLTRSE3... Decided I was gonna keep the SG and buy the FLTRSE3 to accompany it.

I much enjoy the FLTRSE3... disappointed in the chrome for the rumble collection parts a few nic-naks.... but overall very happy with the scoot itself....

Would I buy something else?... maybe... but for now the CVO keeps my attention.... but my buddy was right... I dont like too much chrome. I ride everyday.

Yes, I would.
I already miss the 11 year old Evo with 94k miles that I traded.
Too many issues with this FXDFSE, especially for a new bike in this price range.

In retrospect, I would have bought a 96" FXDF and had them do a 103, TB, cam and exhaust right then - under warranty.
Oh well, live and learn.
