It's funny to me that we all except the fact that a motorcycle that costs more that two economy cars to purchase needs so much added to it to be decent. Seat issues, fit issues, poor stereo, high heat, ect....  ??? I guess we are all either crazy or just gluttins for punishment.  ??? ::) :o >:( :-X

Don't forget the sometimes surly attitude at some dealers to boot.   :coolblue:

It's all about the efficiency of operation though Spyder.  Seriously.  No cheaper way to get around.  Whenever three of us go riding together that's three bikes covering the same road at the same time at, say, 35 mpg each.  So three times 35 mpg means we're averaging 105 mpg for the group when we ride together.  Combine that with redundant tolls and meals and we're almost getting paid to ride.

Don't think anyone on this forum would refer to their finished, personalized CVO as "decent". Superlatives of a slightly higher caliber would be required. These are more like street rods than economy cars. The level of customization (even a stock CVO) may vary but the end product approaches nirvana. Nirvana is never achieved without a cost. It's just that I'ld rather not know exactly what that cost is.

I agree and disagree. Until the chrome stops peeling and the noise and heat (even after a good tune they are still hot) goes away It's not much more than decent. Even though I love it there are still issues. Had this chick once that was fine, funny but a real bitch. No matter how much I loved her or money I put into her underneath it all she was still a bitch. I loved my 08 SERK it was the best bike in the world as far as I was concearned, but in the grand scheme of things in was a decent motorcycle. I guess it's a love hate relationship.  JMHO

Sure there are 'issues', but show me a bike that doesn't have 'em. (notice:  I'm just referring to our scoots, not the wimmen)  But, all said, if someone took my SEEG, I'd look for another one and start the process of 'making it mine' just as fast as I could.  That's the reason I'm happy to see these great, clean SEEGs going on the block on this site......gives my back-up plan 'liquidity'.  :2vrolijk_21: har.  spyder

I've had a couple of people ask, "How much did you pay for that bike?" and my reply was "If you have to ask, you don't need to know".

The question to how much money is put into a bike after purchase is like asking a woman her weight and age. Its an untold amount that should never be talked about, muck less put in a forum where wives can read. My wife has no idea and I wanna keep it that way. She loves to ride and loves the sound, but dont know how much it took to get there.

This response will be self deleted when it is read for further incrimination. Thanks...

Does all the clothes that I bought and all the trips to the bars since I bought the bike count too?If so,the spending will never end.But well worth it so far. :)
