Boss Hoss OMG
« on: April 24, 2010, 11:04:54 PM »

Just got back from Laughlin River Run and took this bike for a ride. It's the bike for the guy that has everything. It was very easy to ride but the power was unbelievable. Grab a handleful of throttle and you would not believe it. It's almost scary. Give it a try if you get a chance but be careful when you first start it, the torque will get your attention.  http://www.bosshoss.com/view_bike.asp?x=BHC3ZZ4SS

Heard a 502 fire up in the background at a Hooters off Stop Eight Road in Dayton Ohio about 7 years ago, could have sworn I had heard a dragster fire up.  Sounded great, not for me, but there are plenty of people that love them.

I ride with a group that has several Boss Hoss and they say they are fun, especially if you get them on the highway.Very fast with a mountain of torque. The down side is stop and go driving for things like parades or poker runs. They are very hot to ride on then even for the passenger. That large radiator fan blows the engine heat on you in those conditions. Also the gas mileage goes down the toilet around town stop and go driving.
Several of the guys have the 502 and they love it most of the time but one wife made her husband sell it because "he's gonna kill himself on it!"

 :cherry:
They are indeed the (top dog) as to sound and looking cool.  But in addition to the negatives listed in prior posts above,  they don't corner worth a shi*.   They gave "test rides" to riders at the Myrtle Beach Bike Rally (most every yr).  I took one  and even at low speeds and a gentle turn,  things start to (scrape) the pavement way to easily.  They are indeed made for straight line riding........no big time (tight) curves/corners.

The big block has been dropped. Supposedly because of emission issues. Fun bike to ride once in awile but far from practical. IMO  The trike is also a blast to ride.

Mountain Boss Hoss In Somerset, Pa.. still builds big blocks and they go from $65-110,000..  They are the premier Boss Hoss dealer.

The best part of a Boss Hoss is the sound they make on startup.  Everyone looks.  They are definitely a conversation piece.

A friend bought an 08 small block last October from Mountain and basically the way the bikes/trikes come from the factory are junk.  They (MBH) buy them unpainted, modify the fuel tanks in the front so the wiring isn't exposed, chrome the wheels, put metal fenders on (instead of plastic), etc, etc..

When you get a Hoss from them or Lima Boss Hoss in Ohio, you have something special as they are not created equal.
