I need to know about the color of my future bike's engine.  Is it granite or black?

I need this info if I want to order the right TB cover that goes with the SE heavy breather!

It's black  They had some left over 07 110 engines to use up.

What are the granite engine? 103's?

Ha ha ha. Had the same thought, some '07's lying around. That aside it is black, and that is very nice with the scheme of the bike. The granite engines are the same 110's, and actually the finish is nicer. I like my black though, because it looks great side by side with my '07 SERK ;-).

I agree, the granite finish is a lot nicer on the engine, but would have prefered a black engine on my Spiced Rum vice the granite.  Once I did notice though that Harley did that makes no sense; if you look at the granite engines, the starter motor is black!!  How messed up is that.  Why couldn't the MoCo have put a granite starter motor on the granite engines?    Makes no sense.

the granite lookes good with silver, for any other colour schemes I would have preferred black. The pre 09 silver even looked really cheap (to my eye  )

Not on the 2005 SEEG. That was a nice combination. Having said that, basic black is always good ;-).
