vibration at 2100 RPM
« on: May 02, 2010, 07:37:31 AM »

2000 SERG, 7500 miles.  Dealer changed rear tire.  Vibration at 2100 RPM under load.  Checked tire for pressure, rotation, and size and the tire was correct.  In 5th gear crusing it has vibration, pull in clutch and it goes away.  Was not vibrating before dealer changed tire.  Primary?  Belt?  Bad tire? Help!!

Had a 00 RK that I bought new tires and wheels for and had vibration at 45-50 mph. Carried front wheel to two dealers who rebalanced and still had the vibration. Next dealer I asked if they could measure the tire maybe a defect in tire could be seen. Sure enough they did. Changed tire out no more vibration. Just another idea hope you get it fixed soon.

Motor mount?  Had one go bad.  Very similar symptom.  Pull in clutch and vibration gone.  Tire change may just be a coincidence.

Ya know Rick... I was thinking the same same...

Back tire re-installation... tighten up the belt with a loose or bad front motor mount and poof the engine is out of line = vibration.

Pull in the clutch = vibration goes away.

Have the same issue with my trike, engine is out of alignment with the frame. Back fender rattles, pull in the clutch and it's smooth as silk. I replaced the front mount and the vibration moved to a lower RPM range. I'll get my Indy to align the motor as soon as I get a chance.

Thanks for all the help... Combination of top motor mount BAD at 7200 miles, and left passenger peg being pushed down on motor.  NO MORE FAT CHICKS!!!   Again, thanks for all the help.

Glad it's fixed.  Can't comment about your taste in women, but everyone has needs.  Yeah, sometimes BIG needs... ::)
