VH High Output Slip On Issue
« on: May 02, 2010, 04:57:40 PM »

I just had the dealer put VH HO Slip Ons and Power Duals on my SERG, the look and sound is amazing except for one problem. The left muffler sticks out half an inch more than the right, anyone else have this issue? Didn't notice it till I got home.

Loosen the clamp on the slip-ons and adjust the length....something the tech over looked thats all.

Rode home in the rain, I will clean the bike and post some photos. They sound and look amazing. Very deep rumble (pavement shakers) at idle and a nice bark when you twist the throttle couldn't be happier. Also added a Power Commander V and Heavy Breather, will have it dynoed in a few weeks and let you know results.

ok, I'll chime in on this one, not to jack the thread. my left muffler constantly has water, condensation, something, dripping from it as well as condensation all around the outside of the end of the muffler. whats up with that? I have seen otheres with a black left muffler

Tbird, or anybody else that has this setup, I'm thinking about the Hi Output slipons with the power dual setup and want to know if you still like them and can you listen to the radio while accelerating, passing and while cruising at highway speeds? Seems like I read here somewhere that somebody said they were too loud for touring. I had the D & D Fatcats on the SERK, a tad quiter would be nice.

There is no way that the V&H will be louder than the D&D Fat cat. I hope not as mile are on back order till the 17th says my dealer.

KingDog, not sure what the FatCats sound like but I don't find the VH pipes that loud, they have a very deep rumble at idle and a nice deep bark when you roll the throttle. I have put a few hundred highway miles on them so far and can hear my stereo just fine.

Mine does it also. The left pipe and exhaust are also much hotter on the left side. Start the bike and feel the exhaust. You'll feel the difference almost immediately. After running, feel the differences in the slipon temps.

Had pipes adjusted, length is fine now but the left pipe still looks about 5/8" lower than the right, anybody else finding the fit of the left pipe an issue?

you need to loosen the bolt going to the crossover on the left side, loosen the bolt attached to  the saddlebag bracket, lift the pipe and hold it there(i used a bungie cord to hold it in place) while tightening both bolts and wala:)

Thanks Worshipduder I will fix it up, don't know why the dealer can't get it right. Guess you have to do it yourself.

i look at it this way, why pay someone else to NOT get it right the first time AND add a new scratch to my bike when I can do the same for free? ;D

so far Ive done every mod myself. very time consuming but with a service manual its pretty self explanatory. hey can you tell me if your left pipe drips water when warming up? mine does it and Ive heard of others as well

thanx
