CVO Tuning - Thundermax
« on: May 06, 2010, 03:29:11 PM »

Does any one have any Info on Thundermax Tuner? Would like to fit to my new 2010 CVO Street Glide. Also going to fit V&H True duals and HO Mufflers. Live in UK so not much info on this product, but heard it is maybe the way to go. All my other bikes I have had Power Commanders fitted, and had no problems but wanted this time to go with something diffrent?

If you've had a successful option that's worked well and you know is supported locally why reinvent the wheel?

Hi there,

I also live in the UK (London).

I have had a thunder-max fitted to my 2007 cvo road king for 2-21\2 years now, on the whole it works very well,
with the autotune function, did have a problem with the unit after about six months, but zippers replaced the unit
without question, and its been great ever since. There are constant updates with regard Maps, software and firmware.

You just find the map that closest matches your engine config (cams/throttle body/exhaust etc), upload it to
the unit and after a few setup procedures, away you go, the autotune will tune constantly, the more you ride
the better it gets.

The most important thing to remember is that if you decide to change the config of you engine, it will always
be able to be updated with a new map.

You will never have to update your choice of ECU again. (bought mine from mandmcycles.com, talk to Mark,
he does a very good deal).

Hi,

Thanks for the Info. I have already ordered and paid for a set of V&H True duals with HO Output mufflers for the bike. But i have just read this morning that the wide band sensors do not fit the True Dual head pipes.!! Now what? Really want to go for the Thundermax set up as have heard a lot of great comments about this product. Decisions decisions??

I ordered 2009 dresser duals from V&H to make the o2 sensors fit.

Hi again,

Check with zippers, they do bungs for the original sensor holes and weld on threaded adapters either straight or angled, to enable you to put the O2
sensors where they will fit.

Give zippers a ring they will be able to tell you if you can reposition the sensors or not, with that choice of exhaust system.

Good luck.
