Because the powers to be see it as to simple a solution to the problem. The "big" companies would not have a use for all of their high end equipment. So simple, leave it to a resilient farmer to come up with an easy solution!  :2vrolijk_20: :2vrolijk_20: :2vrolijk_20:

Once its saturated and recovered I have to think spontaneous combustion is HUGE worry. Why not try it on the coastal stuff right now. They have those shredder/blowers to spread chaff on a lawn. Those would work great from the deck of a boat and their already set up to use whole bales.

I don't have much of a comment except that alot of my buddies are F'd right now and trying to get work on cleaning this oil spill.
BP is not utilizing all the resources the local fishers have to offer.

It has reached into the marshes & barrier islands. The stuff looks nasty on the water; brownish, thick GOO!

Check this website for all the updates (from BP):

:o Never want to put the straw/hay away wet because of spontaneous combustion. Could happen here.  8)
