Taking a chance on having both fobs at once.  I used the card in the back of owner's manual to write info and laminated it, stores neatly in wallet.

I don't think it's waterproof. My wife rides her own and is usually with me. She carries my extra key and keyfob and I carry hers. Of course this only works if your wife rides here own.
My wife rides her own also.  We have both bikes programmed to the same two fobs and we each carry the other's key.  Carying two fobs is a PIA as they're so bulky.  This way we each cary one fob and two keys and can start eaither bike. We each have the disable code written down and hidden so we can manually disable the security when the fob fails due to a dead battery.

BTW, the fob comes apart with a twist of a dime in the little slot and the watch battery comes right out.  They can be stored separated from each other in the bike.

And the batteries last about 2 years.  If you seem to have some weird disarming, replace the battery first.

Mine survived 15 min in the washer Friday after I washed the bike I washed my shorts with fob in pocket. When I realized what I did I stopped the washer and pulled it out. It was not in my pocket anymore but loose bouncing around the washer. I knew it was there because I could hear it. I dried it off and opened it up and it was dry inside. Guess I was lucky! :nixweiss:

They're more waterproof until you replace the battery.  Once you open the fob it's not quite as water proof. Since we've replaced the battery on Malinda's fob for her Dyna she keeps the fob in her pocket or saddlebag instead of with the key.

Maybe GLARE applied to the fob will make it waterproof again?  8)  :P  ;)

NO...
Battery upside down ON A NECK CHAIN ! Done.....

You also MAY be able to DE commission it? Check how commissioning of a new one to see how to DE commission PRIOR TO BEING NEEDED...if lost etc... You will know how to enable it others MAYBE NOT

HERE IS ONE INSTRUCTION:
Turn the run/stop switch to stop.flip the ign key on-off-on-off-on press the left turn twice press the right signal once. Press the left signal once then press and hold key fob until the signals flash then turn key off. If you have 2 fobs do them AT THE SAME TIME. Try to do it quickly, the system doesn't like to wait.

That only works with fobs that have buttons.
