Jackpot 2/1/2 pipes?
« on: May 28, 2010, 01:09:34 PM »

Has anybody used these pipes?

http://www.jackpotmufflers.com/headpipes.htm

I have the Fullsac pipes, Stage 1 w/X pipe on order and was told they would ship last Monday, called Wednesday and was told the won't be in til Friday.  I know they must be busy but my least favorite thing is a supplier that over promises and under delivers. It works so much better to be told the truth. Things need to ship on schedule or sooner, never late if you want to keep people happy. If you can't ship on schedule call the customer, don't wait to be called and asked where is my order.  >:(

Like wise, I gave them my name and number and they said when they'd call and I'm still waiting. I went with the Rush True Duals instead.. Happy with them..

In their defense I received a call a couple hours ago stating the product is shipping today. I would have been happier had they originally told me a correct date or at least said they would call as soon as available and see if I still wanted the items.

I can only do so much in house. I have to use over 5 outside vendors to supply the many parts that go into manufacturing the XPipe.
It only takes one of these vendors to bring it all to a screeching halt. Demand for these XPipes has been over whelming.
Thats why you still don't see them in my website. Yes, I am struggling to keep up. We had a normally consistent vendor take a 2 week closed door
vacation on us. Yes, it screwed us up pretty bad as I haven't been able to build any inventory on these Pipes from their release in Jan.
As much as a control freak as I am, I still can't control everything. My apologizes for letting you down.

Steve,

I guess I am just too impatient. It just seems that all too often when I place orders with venders they over promise and under deliver, usually it is a disapointment. I would rather be told a longer time frame and be pleasantly surprised, then you are the hero.
You were not terribly late and I apologize for the impatience, look forward to getting it on... The pipes that is!

are the fullsac's really that much better? I looked at the dyno charts for them (and while jackpot doesn't have any posted) and they didn't look "that" impressive, just as good as most other exhaust options. also can you use the stock heat shields, or do you have to buy more?

I don't know from first hand experience, but I hope so. Almost anything is better than the pipe with cat, even  core drilled or the 96" head pipe sans cat is better. The Fullsac design looks like it should flow very well and the dyno numbers look like it does.

Fullsac's yes you can use the stock heat shields.  Jackpots, I think yes also. They also look to be a much better design than stock.

I looked at the dyno charts for them (and while jackpot doesn't have any posted) and they didn't look "that" impressive, just as good as most other exhaust options.

Keep in mind that this is an exhaust system and the HP gain can only be so great. It is a passive device and freeing up the flow is most of the battle ( It's not like adding forced induction!), after getting the cat/plug out only so much can be gained by  max flow design characteristics plus it is also retaining the look of the stock pipe so I think it works quite well for what it is.

Actually, for the reasons Steve mentioned previously, the x pipe is not on the Fullsac website.

To answer Marshall 10's question, they are a ceramic coated, stepped header design with a crossover chamber. They are top quality, and come from a company with lots of credibility. I have the x pipe, 2.25" Fullsac baffles, and TTS tuner with a Fullsac map, and I am quite pleased with the combination. I recently bought the bike with just those baffles and a stock catless head pipe, then installed the map first, followed by the x pipe. The bike is smoother (shakes less at idle- only good vibrations), and the throttle is more responsive, with more seat-of-the-pants power, IMO. Also, the bike runs cool, although since I've had it, I feel it's never been excessively hot. The only time I notice the heat is when my right leg is up on the highway peg, as this puts the right thigh closer to the rear cylinder.

They are priced at $431, if I recall correctly. This is a special price Steve (owner of Fullsac and fellow forum member), offers to us.

He is also a great guy to deal with. Do a search, and you'll find Fullsac and their products get nothing but good reviews. :2vrolijk_21:
