In addition to the Riverwalk there are many other matters to take in and with me being a big kid it was time to take in the World’s Best Water Park…Schlitterbahn

This place was FUN!  If you like Water Parks I recommend this one for sure!

I had plenty of fun and relaxtion in San Antonio with some good friends.  However it was time to get back on the motorsickle and head towards my next stop.

Chapter Eight - The Big Easy

My next stop on my journey back to the East Coast would be a familiar one.  A place where life began for me in so many ways and yet in others ended.  You see The Big Easy, N'awlins, was my birth place and this would be were some of my personality would be developed.

N’awlins is home of many great traditions, events, experiences and just damn good times…food, nightlife, Mardi Gras, Super Bowls, Mississippi, French Quarter, Katrina, music, hurricanes (the drink too)…WOW!

As a child I was fortunate enough to enjoy many of these find affairs with many of them becoming a part of every day life in N’awlins.  Every year we would travel down to Canal Street to enjoy many of the Mardi Gras parades and activities.  The interesting element of this tradition is that though the years not much has changed.

You see partying at Mardi Gras did not start in recent years oh no, it was there even in the fifties when I was just a young snot.  Perhaps this is where it all began for me?  But I digress and that is a matter better suited for discussion with my psychiatrist.  By the way these were actual photos taken by my parents..

Even back in the day we would get dressed up and make our way downtown to take in the festivities.  It would be here that I would begin to consume my personality.

Take a gander at my early days as Superman and Dennis the Menace …That says it all!

And another thing, Katrina was horrible do not get me wrong and it was not the first time that N’awlins was under water.  Back in my day we used these types of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and take in some other wise unavailable swimming.
