It's a hollow underground lava tube from back when Mt. Lassen erupted.

We followed the trail.  Only about 100 yds. and found the entrance to the cave.

None of the four of us read more than the headline on the sign.  So..............we didn't know that we were supposed to have a flashlight.  It was so dark down there that you literally could not see your hand directly in front of your face. :o

I had to keep flashing the camera to find our way through the cave.  All three of them were holding onto each other.  A lot of nervous laughter (to cover up the fear.  LOL).  It was approx. 900-1200 yds long and turned in every direction imagionable so it was an adventure.

When we came out the other end, we had to hike back to the parking lot........hoping like hell that we were following the right trail. :nixweiss:

Headed to Burney Falls, we stopped in the town of Burney for lunch.

They dress just a bit different in these mountain towns.........  Yes, it's a velvet waist coat and a top hat. :nervous:

These falls are not fed by any river, creek or any other body of water.  Fed purely by natural springs....
