Bushtec Roadstar
« on: June 06, 2010, 12:14:36 PM »

I found a used bushtec roadstar in great condition..   Is there anything I should look for on it??  Does anyone pull the roadstar??  I kinda like the looks of the Quantum better but for the price of this used one its hard to be picky...

Sure do.  Have been very pleased with it too.  It's not the largest volume model they offer but it still carries a lot.

What are your questions?  Or just general interest so far?

I've had no particular problems with mine.  Nothing at all specific to the Roadstar model.  All the Bushtecs need a bit of minor maintenance as time and miles pass.  You can download their owner's guide at the Bushtec website to read and see all you need to know there.  If you didn't get one with the trailer get yourself a little hand held air pump to set the suspension when it's loaded.  Aside from that just have fun with it.

The most important thing to watch are the wheel bearings. Make sure the wheels
spin freely, with no sticky feeling, and NO SIDE play. This area is the weakest
points on the Bushtec trailers. Get the owners manual off the website, and
follow it to the "T", and you'll love the trailer. I have the Quantum Sport and
love it. I've pulled it well over 15k, since I got it back in 07, with no problems.
