TOMS RIVER — Police have arrested Jason Branch, 26, of Edgewood Drive, after a Jackson man on a motorcycle said he was struck by the vehicle Branch was driving.
Police received a call at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday from the Jackson man, saying he was hit by the vehicle near the intersection of Fischer Boulevard and Overlook Drive. He identified Branch as someone with whom he had prior disputes, according to police Capt. Steven R. Henry.
The victim told police he was ejected from his motorcycle during the initial collision, and had moved into a parking lot for a nearby business when Branch returned in his silver sedan and tried to hit him again from behind, Henry said.
The Jackson man was treated at the scene for minor injuries, according to Henry.
On Monday, Branch was arrested during a routine motor vehicle stop by Patrolman Robert Burczyk.
Branch is charged with two counts of second-degree aggravated assault and is being held in the Ocean County Jail, in Toms River, on $75,000 bail without the option to post 10 percent.
Patrolman Kenneth Thomas conducted the investigation and signed arrest warrants for Branch.
