I see the Germans didnt want to spoil the party and let the Serbians win 1-0 to keep the group interesting until the final game, psychological thinking not wanting to be clear favorites to soon

Every rule is validated by exceptions. In any case they simply did run around like a bunch of chickens without any clue, when Klose was sent off and the Serbs scored in the next minute. This shows you that Ballack is missing despite all the talk about the youthful team.
Also was interesting how the TV moderators changed tone from "our team" to "the Germans" after it became clear that the game could not be won.
