09 vs 10 Headpipe
« on: June 22, 2010, 12:46:09 AM »

I just read an interesting comment in for sale.

A friend has a 2010 Ultra Limited 103.  We are going to put the CVO mufflers on it & wanted a catless headpipe.  Found an 09 headpipe.  However what I just read siad the 02 sensors are different, different size & location.

It is true?  What have others done to install an 09 catless headpipe on a 10?

Thanks

the 02 sencers are different from 09 to 10.10 sencers are smaller and located near the tranny.the 09 are located in a different positions.i do not think you can use a 09 pipie on a 10 because of this.i would go with vance hines power duals.egay has them for $425 shipped.look great and preform well.i just did 1.you get everything including the gaskets.

You can also choose to remove the cat from the headpipe by cutting it in half, gouging out the cat, and welding it back together, or you could contact Fullsac and by their x-pipe.

Yes, true.
you can have a modified catless '10 head pipe (like mine!)
You can go aftermarket (like I did with a x-pipe)
I would not recommend trying to use a '09 head pipe on a '10.

You can use the 09 pipe if you are intendingusing a tuner with autotune the Thundermax and Power commander autotune units use the old style 02 sensors.

The new narrow band 12mm only fit 2010 pipes. I have the Vance and Hines 2010 Power Duals and am using the factory sensors.

Unfortunately I want to use the Thundermax Auto tune system so now I either have to change the pipe again or add the 18mm O2 bungs.

Sucks to be me  :drink: :drink:
