IMHO, Don (Deweysheads) and Hillsidecycle have given you the best advice.  Stick with the chain drive.

There was a time, like from 1999 through 2006, where the only real alternative to the POS stock cam drive was the S&S gear drive.  The gear drives were much more precise (valve timing could vary a great deal with the sloppy system Harley used), and had the potential to be much more reliable as well.  Fast forward to the new hydraulic tensioner/roller chain cam drive system, and any benefits of the gear drive are greatly diminished.  The gear drive requires a very accurate crankshaft, which has been a real problem for H-D since 2007.  So you will need to split the cases and either have your crankshaft trued and plugged or welded, or just replace it with something from a good aftermarket source.  Not terribly cheap either way.  Then you will need to understand that even with a perfect crank, you will most likely have more noise with the gear drives than with the chains.  Maybe that's a good thing, if it covers up the other noises common to the 110's and you happen to prefer whining to ticking.
