How did you get that elk to stand still on the Harley?

It wasn't easy, especially since it wasn't a CVO!

Incredible trip, glad you were able to enjoy the area.   I live in Buena Vista, just south of Leadville!  That's one thing, I'm fortunate enough to get to ride in these areas every day.  :)

Mike,

Glad to see you signed up, it is a great site and you will meet a lot of great people!

We had a great time in Colorado, we did take 550 from Montrose down to Durango...great road.  The highlight was our attempt to ride up Pikes Peak...made it as far as about 13, 200 feet before the rangers wouldn't let us go any further due to snow & ice.

Post pictures if you have them!

Talk to you soon,

.

Napalm, You're my new hero. I haven't been on the website much lately and just saw this. That's the trip I've always wanted to do, except that I want to ride the northern route out there from Missouri and the southern route through the desert on the way back. Great pictures, Thank You for posting them.

Went riding with my brother in law for five days, we did go up to RMNP, and Trail Ridge was a mess! Sat in a line in a construction zone near the top for quite a while we decided to turn around and ride else where. We had great luck over the five days, skirted around several storms. Only got caught once as we arrived at Steamboat Springs, it started to pour just as we came down off Rabbit Ears Pass.

We were lucky also...only hit rain in Pueble...waited it out at Pueblo HD...got a little wet on the way to Colorado Springs.

Thanks Napalm for the great pictures!  You must have been on a natural high the entire trip.

You pics brought back some marvelous memories... We have to get back there soon.

Awesome!!  Took my 08' CVO everywhere you went, and more -- Had a house in BV just like bandit4142!  If you get the chance (and anyone else) continue heading east from Aspen over Independence Pass to Twin Lakes.  Ride up the ridge a little bit and look back over your shoulder toward the mountains -- OMG it is one of the most magnificent sights in the Rockies.  Breathtaking beautiful scenery, mountains, lakes, wildlife, and good people.  I'll retire there one day.

Thanks for the pics -- Glad you guys had a good time and everyone returned safe.  Joel
