KTP installation questions
« on: July 15, 2010, 08:22:50 AM »

I have purchased the matching KTP for my SESG, I plan on installing it myself, is there anything I should look out for or know of prior to installing it. ie mounting detachable rack, antenna. screw torque. Any and all info would be helpfull.
Thanks in advance...

The wife and I both have the hidden antenna.  I just installed her chopped tour pack a couple weeks ago.  Didn't even look at the directions......it was that straight forward. :2vrolijk_21:

It does have two sets of holes so you can mount it a bit forward or a bit back.

It's not hard. Only 4 bolts hold the tour pak to the bracket. Antenna if you are using is straight forward also.

I should manage that alright. What about the back rest? Does it come preinstalled?

It should come pre-drilled just apply backrest and tighten.

5 bolts on all of ours. 4 through bracket, round bar and pak, and 1 through round bar and pak. Has this changed?

Yes, it's changed Roger......surpisingly, a little easier now.

I left my antenna on. I put some industrial strength velcro on the pack large enough to hold the antenna in place. The reception is better than the hidden antenna in my case.

Tour Pak received today, had a quick look, seems pretty straight forward. I didn't realize the KTP has a flat plate fastened to the inside bottom, was wondering.....
Thanks for all the advise and help  :2vrolijk_21:
