Got a good laugh today.

Some background... I am a New Car Dealer here in Canada. I have a small Chrysler Dodge Jeep Store... so many times when I see frustrated comments from CVOHarley members about how they were mistreated by their Harley Dealer, I try to relate the situation to my store and my customers to see if there is a lesson I can learn.

Today I picked up my Spiced Rum Touch up paint. It's the typical nail polish sized bottle. Now I really like my Harley Dealer. He's a good friend and we've dealt with each other for years. When we need a favour, we ask each other but usually, it's business as usual for both of us.

Here in my parts department a similar touch up paint is $11.95 Canadian... so i figured "Harley will be more...and here is where the laugh comes in...

I ordered the paint in May, it's now July 23rd and it arrived. I picked it up and paid the bill.....

$45.15 FOR 1/4 OZ bottle of paint !!!!!!!!!!!!

I could only laugh :lolk:

I feel your pain.  It happened this past weekend to me too.  A buddy of mine calls up and said that his Aunt is in from Florida and would love it if she could ride on my bike with me down to Bike Time http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=50568.0  and cruise the strip. She went to get on my SEUC w/o the tour pak and dragged here high heels across my right bag lid. I about chit when I noticed but I did not want to flip out and call her what I was thinking. Two nice 1 inch scratches that now show white on my candy crimson finish along with several small clear coat scratches.  I'm getting sick to my stomach reliving this event as I type this!

The kicker here is I have been pondering the Motorcycle Armor for months and was trying to find a local where they might be or a seller what would install it. Yeah I waited too long!  A couple hunded bucks later and several pieces of Motorcyle Armor ordered.  I hope the install is as easy as it is talked about.

I think I need to have another drink now and try to forget about this,

Topper,

I installed the Motorcycle Amour lid protectors myself.  It was not difficult and they came out great.

Take your time.  Watch the video on their site.  Wear a long sleeve shirt (yes there is an arm hair in the middle of my lid... grrr!)...

KEEP YOUR HANDS AND EVERYTHING SOAKED WITH THEIR SOLUTION!!

I will bet that once you get the MA protectors installed.. those scratches will dissappear!

Good luck..
