any idea what the stock 2011 CVO exhaust output is?  i'm sold on the Dresser Duals with the 4.5" Hi Outputs..........just wish the entire slip on was 4.5" - not stepped up.

80db

really?  that's it?  i guess 104db would be an increase then.  i read a few posts that folks were complaining that the VH Hi Outputs at 104db were TOO QUIET.

i was thinking the Dresser Duals with Hi Outputs..........but i'd like to hear them in real life.

The reason they seem quiet even tho they are 104 db is that they are mostly low frequency tones. I have set off close car alarms just off idle.  Not a lot of bark but very beefy and  a very nice growl when winding it up 3500 to 4 grand.

A little bit woofy off the line, they smooth out and purr nicely at cruise.

I haven't heard them other than when I am on the bike. I would like to hear them with someone else riding it.

From my perspective, I would like a little more cut to the sound that I hear while on the bike.. they have improved and moved in that direction a bit since I first put them on.....  they do sound MASSIVE when gunning it under a bridge...   :)

woofy is like a lower midrange tone that is not as pleasing to the ears..like a loud bub bub bub sound that lacks crispness as you are slipping the clutch to get started in first gear.

I am a sound guy, so If I could, I would use an equalizer to remove some of those frequencies.  Once you get past that initial range, they start to sound good, although if I had my druthers, I would also use the EQ to dial in just a little more high frequency tone.

I am thinking that a little of what the rineharts do added to these would really make these perfect.  hence the reason I have been looking at those 4 inch rineharts thinking they might have the best of both of these worlds....

Why is it hard to do with injection?

If I go for the Rinehart 4 inch, maybe you can buy my Hi Outputs!   :)  They are really  good, and they look awesome too, but I like to try different things!

i've had several hot rod bikes with 585 - 625 cams and when ya tune the carb to thump (barely run) at 500rpm.......that's just not replicatable on an injected bike.

plus it's hard on the motor by not providing sufficient oil circulation among other things.  ya gotta know what's going on and what ya can and can't do.......but there's truely NOTHING like that sound and feel!  :-*
