Rider never checked traffic.  Too preoccupied with being on TV and newscaster instructions to do the things he should have been doing.

I agree!  Title should read "Distracted rider cuts in front of big truck and loses".

I have seen some dip-chit things in my 50 + years on this dirtball,  but this one really pushes the limits!  Hope he came out of it OK.

Had the same thought more than once.  There's another version of this clip posted somewhere with subtitles.  The newsreader is going on about safety devices and HUD in the highlight to warn of traffic hazards and how the rider doesn't even need to look.  Then he doesn't look and wham.

It's staged or the Travel Gods were having a particularly sick bit of fun that day.  Personally, I'm betting on staged.  The newscaster never identified a broadcast station either if I remember correctly.  May be wrong but I hope it was and the dumb bastard who pulled in front of the truck is actually sitting back with a cool one laughing about all the other dumb bastards worrying about his video.
