Navigation Interface Module
« on: July 27, 2010, 07:27:29 PM »

Looks like HD has been reading this blog about the fix for the AUX input for GPS's.  The HD website now has the following product available.  Pn# 76000024.   Although at a cost of $149.95 for a handfull of wire.  It appears that it will allow GPS messgaes to interrupt the audio from the radio rather than having to be plugged into the AUX port.  There are a couple exceptions listed to the applications, and I am not an expert in those applications.

Doubt it.  The kit is going to patch the GPS unit's audio output to Harmon Kardon audio inputs.  The phone-to-GPS bluetooth connection isn't an audio output though.

Nice idea.  Doesn't look like what they've built though.

I wonder if this will attach to the new dash mount we all have been doing?

I was more interested to learn about the new Ipod interface that puts the Ipod folders on the HD screen. That was until I noticed the $399 price tag. Jeez - Even at 20% off, that's still a hefty number!

I don't want to be negative about this but I'm glad the MoCo did nothing to upgrade the electronics for 2011. It keeps the value of my '09 and '10 CVO Ultra Classic right up there because there is no motivation to buy a new '11. Given how closely the MoCo works with Ford Motor Company it is stunning to me that HD is 3-4 years behind the world on electronics technology. Ford has Sync, which allows you to pair your phone right to the vehicle audio system and stream your music via bluetooth and speak hands free on the phone, with your phone address book on the LCD screen, etc. On the other hand, HD still uses the same radio since 2006. Wasn't that even before the I-Phone was introduced, by several years? Clearly, HD engineers have their heads in a hole and don't know that the times, they are a changin'. The aftermarket guys have to love it though.

They are certainly contributing to a slew of aftermarket electronics vendors like J&M, Hawgwired, Hawg Tunes, Garmin, to name a few.

Unit will not work with a Zumo, but have a Road Tech.
