Okay I spoke with the tech at HD, there checking the possibility that the softwear may have something to do with it. Since we all may have done our updates Thur Garmin wed site that here updates may have something to do with it. He said that we should be able to update our road tech thur the HD web site. Also the correct update with ONLY work with Road tech 660-665; not the regular Zumo's. i should have more later from them. I'm going to install my Ipod harness, I'll see if that have issues also.

So, bottom line is no workee unless you have HD's version - Road Tech 600 or 650...That sucks!  First they give us that antiquated POS HK GPS, then they obsolete it so it can never be upgraded, now we can’t use the new parts…

This has become very confusing. Does anyone have this thing working, as it should no matter what mode the radio is in, or not? The pins not making a connection, the use of a Road Tech vs a Garmin Zumo, whether we go the updates from HD or Garmin. I just want to know does anyone have it working correctly? or do I need to return it?

Thanks

To everyone who has tried this with the regular Zumo GPS, has anyone tried it with the Zumo 665? The Zumo 660 and 665 both have different software versions.

Mine worked fine with a roadtech 660. Didn't have a 665 to try. Did NOT work with a zumo 660.

I don't know Steve I guess I got the crappy one. The Ipod module works great.

Well, since the install is identical between the 2, if the iPod works and the Nav doesn't, maybe you got a bad one.

I just spoke with HD and they're going to take a CVO and do the install to see if the instruction sheet is correct or like you said I may have a bad unit.

They told me they were gonna do the same thing, but it'd probably be next week before they could.

They told me tomorrow, lets wait and see. They said the there going to do the mock-up to see for themselves, because if I go to the dealer with the reference number the dealer is going to do the same thing by calling HD tech. :nixweiss: oh well the ipod works ::)

And in accordance with another thread....are you able to navigate playlists with the handlebars?  I can select them with radio soft keys, but hand controls only skip the songs.
