Fairing oil temperature gauge
« on: March 01, 2006, 08:27:46 AM »

Wally's Cycle World has a fairing mounted oil temperature gauge that matches the other CVO gauges.

I would be interested in this too - I have my fairing off right now for some other work so the time is right

Cheers

Thanks Boatman, apart from the fogging, that looks like a pretty good match - in fact it's an even better match to my fuel gauge with the fogging - but that's another story ;)

I see on the Wally's site there are about 4 choices - for the 05SEEG should I be looking for the spun aluminium face?

Cheers

Thanks GRC for the links on this previously discussed in detail item.  When I did a search and typed in "oil temperature gauge", none of your provided posts came up.
UKDave-Thanks for bringing up the fogging.  After reading GRC's posts, Porthole was having a problem with his gauge and no responses from the supplier.
The MOCO has not come out with a matching oil gauge that I can tell?

Thanks everyone

I have dropped a message to Wally and depending on their response may well order later this week

I also note they had Progressive 440's 12" at less than $400 delivered "Stateside"

Cheers

Whereabouts on the Wally's site are the gauges, Dave?  I can't find them, and every search for anything comes up with 1884 matches!

Jim,

Click where it says "Order Now" and you will go to the page where all four are listed.  The bottom one says aluminum face.  If it were me, I would call and make sure that is the spun aluminum face for the CVO bikes.

Thanks Jerry. I think UK Dave is enquiring about just that from Wally.

I asked Wally World to send me a picture of their gauge and there email reply was they didn't have a picture of the spun aluminum gauge but it would match HD's spun aluminum gauge.  In their listing it lists McEwan as the supplier so it will look just like the one in Porthole's picture.  As Twolane has stated, it is not an exact match.  What I don't understand if you went to the trouble to make the gauge in the 1st place why you didn't do a better job in getting it to match.  I think I will pass for now and wait for one from the MOCO.  If the MOCO does make one, I will place it in the oil reservoir as it is the same reading as their LED dipstick and not go to the trouble to plumb in the hose.
