Beginning to appear like McEwan is no longer manufacturing or selling the gauges. I thought he was also the OEM for MOCO on the catalog temp gauges, so maybe they didn't want the competition ? As I recall, there were also some other threads here on McEwan's company not returning phone calls, etc. Maybe someone local can pay them a visit and see what's up?

I don't think that portholes one (in the photo on his site) looks that bad a match for the OEM guages really, and steaming up?  ALL mine have always done that.  I'd be happy to replace the air temp gauge with one, and then get one of these - http://tinyurl.com/rtr7m with a silver face.

I bought one from Wally last month and it is the McEwan guage.  Not an exact match but close enough since I don't think that the MoCo will come out with one for us...

Thanks Boatman, apart from the fogging, that looks like a pretty good match - in fact it's an even better match to my fuel gauge with the fogging - but that's another story ;)

I see on the Wally's site there are about 4 choices - for the 05SEEG should I be looking for the spun aluminium face?

Cheers

Dave

Hell Dave I heard that! the fog is a dead on match with mine.

IMO

Twin Cams run hot. 103's run hotter. Used to have one of those LCD temp dipsticks. Drove me nuts between the seepage and the fact that the oil temp in the desert in August would routinely hit 240. What then stop?
I'm a proponent of oil pressure guages, but temp guages do nothing more than make me worry needlessly

Spyderman,

You're right, sometimes more information is not a good thing.
