Stone chip on Duracell
« on: August 05, 2010, 08:10:57 PM »

I was on a ride recently and had a stone thrown at me from the truck in front.

Unfortunately it hit right on the Gold Leaf on the fairing and chipped it!  :o

Wondering if any '08 SEUC (Anniversary) owners out there have ever had to repair their Gold Leaf?

Any suggestions on how I go about it would be greatly appreciated.

If it had of been the Crystal Copper or Black Onyx, no problem, but the Gold Leaf!
I don't believe the MoCo offers any touch up for this, just the copper & black.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can lend.  :2vrolijk_21:

Take care,

Grizzly

I'll drop you a secret (to everyone, actually). You can "touch-it-up" using House of Kolors, Rich Gold pinstriping enamel. The "gold leaf" on those bikes is actually a vinyl decal. But, when you attempt this, you will probably notice where the repair was made. It's better looking than a big dot in the center of the gold, though. I can repair the right way, by refinshing the part and re-clearcoating; more expensive, but looks better and is cheaper than buying a new part,....if you'd be interested. Just contact me through the site. I don't think they'll let me add business info in this particular discussion. Good luck!
